Dell 2407WFP 24" Entertainment Pack Vs Dell 2407WFP 24"

 Hi all

I am looking at buying a Dell 2407WFP 24" Entertainment Pack and I was wondering why is it cheaper than the Dell 2407WFP 24" standard. Is there anything wrong with these monitors? It just looks sus that they are offering 5 year warranty, free keyboard, mouse and speakers at $AU1299.00 delivered compared to 3 years warranty no keyboard, mouse and speakers at $AU1349.00 delivered.

You know when something is to good to be true, it is!!

The monitors are exactly the same. Even if you get an A00 or A01 from buying this deal you are still eligable for the replacement.

My multimedia package is on its way with the 2407fpw.
It is coming on the 9th july according to the time estimate.
Hopefully it is the A02!
Fingers crossed!!!

I took delivery of an A02 three days ago, and it is flawless. I'm only concerned about DVI, gaming, and normal desktop use. I've run several monitor testings software utilities and all say the same thing... flawless.

I'm in the minority so it seems, but there are some good A02's out there prior to the July 5 shipments.

Thanks fudge!
It has felt like I have made a gutsy decision and almost wanted to get a 2405fpw after all these issues, but I have bit the bullet!
Have you ordered yours?
I'll tell you that I have paid, and dell sent back an itemised list of what I got and how much it cost.
It did seem like a typo, with the entertainment pack being less than the monitor alone.
But the order has been approved and is pending.
I should have the monitor by july 9th according to there estimate.

Hahaha
Yeah I am sure thats why they are trying to get rid of em!!
I have an mx-1000 laser.
I may build a second pc with my old components when I upgrade.
So they keyboard/ mouse will come in handy for that.
But I can see where your coming from in wanting to wait.
I have been eyeing a 24" monitors since I saw the short review in pc powerplay nov 2005.
It was a pipe dream back then!!!
can't wait!

I've probably decided against the entertainment pack deal  myself because:

The price is good but Dell will have good deals in the future and I don't wish to risk getting a bad monitor which I have to mess around getting replaced/fixed.  If I spend over a grand on a piece of hardware I expect it to work.

A much more minor issue:  Dell optical mice are (IMHO) poor.  I have had two myself and I've used others at work and they all seem to skip.

no haven't ordered yet!! may order at end of the week.
the only reason I will order this week is because it last week of the financial year so they will want to get rid of stock.
the only reason I will not order is if they are a rehash old model and not the new A02
don't need keyboard or mouse as i already have so I will get rid of them.

cheers
